How Outripple handles your data — written in plain English.

Outripple ("Outripple", "we", "us", or "our") is a software platform that helps founders create and publish content on LinkedIn. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to outripple.com, our web application at app.outripple.com, and the Outripple Chrome extension (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

When you create an Outripple account, we collect your name, email address, password (stored as a hash), and any profile details you choose to add such as your company, role, and audience description.

1.2 Information from LinkedIn

When you connect your LinkedIn account to Outripple, you authorize us through LinkedIn's official OAuth 2.0 flow. We use the LinkedIn Marketing Developer Platform and Community Management API. With your explicit consent, we receive and store:

We do not collect your LinkedIn password. We do not read or store your LinkedIn direct messages. We do not access your connections or follower list beyond what LinkedIn explicitly returns through approved API endpoints.

1.3 Content you create

Outripple stores the post drafts, scheduled posts, and published posts you create using the Service, along with associated metadata such as scheduled publication time, target objective, and your edits.

1.4 Information from the Outripple Chrome extension

If you install the Outripple Chrome extension, the extension reads page content on linkedin.com pages you visit, only when you actively use Outripple features. Specifically, the extension may:

The extension does not automatically like, comment on, follow, or message anyone on your behalf. The extension does not transmit data from any website other than linkedin.com.

1.5 Usage data

We collect technical information about your use of the Service, including IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, features used, and timestamps. We use this for security, troubleshooting, and product improvement.

1.6 Cookies and similar technologies

We use first-party cookies for authentication and session management. We use minimal analytics cookies to understand product usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, though this may impair the functionality of the Service.

We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Outripple, our users, or the public.

If Outripple is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before that happens and you will have the opportunity to delete your account.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

Regardless of where you live, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

If you are in California, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and the right to opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

6. Security

We protect your information using industry-standard practices:

Outripple operates globally. Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than the one you live in. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your information when it is transferred internationally.

Outripple is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will delete it.
